Soy wax candles are made from soybean oil from the soybean plant, containing a high proportion of stearic acid. It is typically softer than paraffin wax and with a lower melting temperature. Paraffin candles include probable carcinogens toluene, benzene, and other toxic chemicals, including methyl ethyl ketone and naphthalene.
