Seven ways to help your friend who is feeling alone

Being single is not always a bad thing. Being single means you are free to do what you want, when you want and with whom you want. You have the opportunity to grow as an individual without any restrictions or limitations.

We should learn to be happy and celebrate our singlehood.
Being single can be a great thing. It gives you the opportunity to focus on your career, friendships and hobbies. It also gives you the opportunity to find yourself before you commit to someone else.
But for some people, being single can be draining. They get tired of feeling alone and frustrated. There is nothing more heartbreaking than seeing a friend or family member struggle with their singleness and not knowing what to do for them. Instead of wondering what you should say if your single friend is struggling.
Here are seven ways to help your single friends

      1. Let them know that they are not alone. Asking how they're doing can be a  great way to start a conversation about their feelings without pressuring them to talk about something else.

  1. Listen to what your friend is telling you and let them know that you care about them. A lot of times, people will confide in their close friends because they feel like they can trust them.
  2. Encourage your friend to talk about what happened in an open and healthy way. Maybe talking to a therapist or trusted friend would help.
  3. Let them know that you're there for them, whatever decision they make."Hey," your friend says, "How are you doing?" "I'm okay," you reply ."You know, I really appreciate you being here with me," they say, "I just need to talk about something." You nod and say, "I'm here for you."By being there for them, you have committed to making their time with you a positive experience. However, don't push them too much as this can make the conversation uncomfortable for your friend.
  4. Help your friend find a safe place to talk about the problem. Sometimes people feel best when they are in an environment that is private and focused on their feelings.
  5. Listen and be supportive, letting the person know that you understand what they are going through.
  6. Remember that sometimes people feel like that for a reason and it is not their fault, so try to include them in your plans as much as possible.
