The Health Benefits of Essential Oil

Rosemary

I was surprised to find a lot of people recommend using rosemary essential oil for treatments like heartburn. Rosemary is a long-standing herb used for treating digestive issues such as cramps, nausea, and gas. It can also ease pain associated with arthritis and muscle tremors. In high doses, it has been known to be an effective treatment for migraines since the scent helps reduce pain in the head and in the senses. It's best to avoid direct contact with your eyes after applying rosemary essential oil because it can burn them if they happen to come into contact with it directly.

Eucalyptus

You can use Eucalyptus Essential Oil for mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and psychosis and reduce inflammation or swelling in the throat due to a cold or flu.

Tea Tree

Tea tree oil has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. It can be used topically on the skin to treat acne, eczema and psoriasis. Inhaling the tea tree oil vapors helps with respiratory infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis. It also has astringent properties that can help clear acne, blackheads and whiteheads caused by pimples or blocked pores. Tea trees are known for their ability to inhibit fungal growth. This property makes it a natural fungicide as well as an antiseptic helpful in treating skin conditions such as athlete's foot, dandruff and insect bites. It should only be used on children under two. Consult your paediatrician first. Tea tree oil can act as a natural mosquito repellant when mixed with water into a spray and sprayed on the skin.

Citronella

Citronella Oil is a great alternative to most synthetic fragrances and scented products. It's very refreshing, light and has a pleasant scent that is not overpowering. Citronella Essential Oil is often used in diffusers because it has natural antimicrobial properties that kill fungus and bacteria on contact. You can use the oil in your home or office by adding a few drops into boiling water to make your own potpourri.
